Calorie Counting - The body effects
I'm going to keep this short and simple:
If you eat a lot of food, and a lot of it you don't need, your body has to do something with it and it stores it as fat for energy consumption later on.
If you don't eat a lot of food and miss out what your body needs, your body breaks down essential areas of the body - muscle, energy stores and more to keep you alive.
Both are very dangerous and can lead to many health problems, some of which are:
High blood pressure
High cholesterol
Osteoarthritis caused by wearing down of cartilage and bone
High trigyceride levels
Type 2 diabetes
Sleep apnea
Respiratory problems
Coronary heart disease
Gallbladder disease
Stroke
Increased risk of endometrial, breast and colon cancer
These are just a few, there are more.
Vice versa, if you do not eat enough these are some of the things you can develop:
Heart erosion
Poor circulation
Irregular heartbeat
Infertility
Irregular menstruation
Risk of bone fracture
Osteoporosis
Slowing of digestion
Dry hair and skin
Restlessness
To name a few.
In summary, keep everything in a good balance, eat a good portion of protein, carbs and some fats - if you need any advice on how these hsould be split up, please get in touch!
